Year-end checklist for business owners
What to prepare so year-end accounts are quick and accurate.
- Bank statements for the full year, including closed accounts.
- A list of customers who owe you and suppliers you owe at year end.
- Inventory count or valuation, if you hold stock.
- Invoices for assets bought during the year.
- Loan statements and agreements.
- Employee list with joining dates and basic salaries, for end of service provisions.
- Details of any transactions with owners or related companies.
With monthly bookkeeping, most of this is already in place, and year end becomes a short, predictable exercise.
